ABOUT US

LYRA wellbeing was born from a need and want to provide high quality wellbeing treatments and experiences to clients in my own unique way.

My passion has always been to want to make the whole wellbeing experience, whether it's a massage treatment, a group class, or a 1:1 therapy session, one of the most enjoyable elements of your week, so that you go away feeling better, lighter, stronger, energised.

The name LYRA came from a combination of mine and my daughter’s names -

LIlLY & LAURA = LYRA. And that’s another huge thing for me - everything I do is always for her, showing her what people can achieve, what she can achieve and how positive action, interaction and thoughts have an incredibly positive impact on day to day lives.

LYRA wellbeing is truly a family unit, which is what I hope everyone who comes to my sessions feel.

Meet Laura

I started what is now called LYRA in 2014 and had previously been working in the spa industry since 2006.

I’d started attending Pilates classes during maternity leave for some self-wellbeing. Eventually, one class a week turned into two classes and I loved it to the point where I remember saying "if I could do this every day, I would!"

A close friend suggested I train to teach, and do what I loved, and the next day I found myself ready to take on a new challenge and had enrolled on a course.

I started teaching in May of that year and was so fortunate that it went better than I could ever have imagined and I’m so thankful that some of those clients in that first batch of classes are still with me today.

I was massaging and Pilates-ing quite happily until the March of 2020 when everything came to an abrupt standstill.

Slowly but surely, over the last couple of years, we have been building and re-grouping again and LYRA has taken a different path once more.

We are all nearly 10 years older, and a lot has happened in that time.

Real, to the bones, life shifting stuff. And in that serendipitous way life seems to take sometimes, Solution Focused Hypnotherapy came into my life.

I’ve now been seeing people for therapy for a little over a year, and the way this modality of therapy changes lives for the better never gets old.

Is this the last path LYRA will follow..? Definitely not.

Will it be enough for now..? Maybe!

Locations

I have worked out of the local Parish Room since 2014 and have found it to be an ideal location to teach mat work pilates.

It is lovely whatever the weather, or the time of year, and provides an ideal space for your weekly mat work Pilates practice.

I opened my studio in 2025, after many months of building work, refurbishment and carefully chosen decoration.

With acoustic double glazed windows, lots of natural light and under floor heating, i think the studio is the perfect location to take part in reformer pilates classes.

There is plenty of free parking within the village, with local shops and coffee stops, making your wellbeing routine easier than ever!
